Wanted: worn out D2 sprocket with good hub splines

One of my sprockets is worn on the hub splines so I'm looking for a 100% worn-out sprocket that has good splines, meaning at least 1/8 to 1/14 over the end of the shaft so that the nut can hold it. The existing nut tightens on to the shaft shoulder instead of the sprocket hub, which means that the sprocket is sticking in too far and I don't want to mess with track frame alignment that far out

i had that problem so had a heavy washer machined to put between the nut and the sprocket and was enough to get the sprocket on real tight.

I thought about that Dan but then decided I wanted the sprocket to be out where I could get some decent alignment with the track frames. I have to swap out the sprocket ring anyway so might as well install it on a decent hub.
I'll give you a call tomorrow Jon - thanks for the offer! The ring ID is right at the root of the spokes so I think it'll require all of the spokes left on.

Cheers,
Neil

Hi Team,
the sprocket hub protrusion measurement is so there is about equal compression on the sprocket bellows seals on each side of the sprocket.
With the sprocket being too far onto the hub, the inner bellows will be over compressed and the outer will be under compressed and so may leak both oil out and dirt in--brass bellows will likely split in the short term--as mentioned above track frame alignment becomes an issue and so can be hard to achieve a suitable alignment.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

the washer was only about 1/8 inch thick--so that would put it in 1/8 max---and being the track from had 1 1/2 inch toe out when i bought it and got it back to within 1/4 inch toe out i figured i was in the ball park--seems to be working ok after 5 years of use. And i believe the bellows seal is only on the inside surface of the sprocket
