Having purchased two bad starting engines I'm game to try again. Looking for a ready to install pony or all the information on whats needed in kit form to convert to electric start.
I prefer the pony or someone who has the time to rebuild mine without breaking the bank. I have two complete ponys but one has a broke rod I'm sure.

May still need some but not sure when. I was hoping to get it done before this weekend's show bu not going to happen. I made block off plates for the water passages and will just pull start it until I get the ponys tore down this winter. They have plagued this machine since i bought it and I'm done messing with them. I will strip them bare block and then start from scratch to be the best they can be. I like the pony but see why the electric starter replaced them.

I wish I was closer Vance; ponies are basic but they do need to be set up right or they'll give problems like you're experiencing. If you sent it to me I'd get it in ship shape for you but the shipping would be prohibitive
Cheers,
