Hi Jeff M,
any chance you could enlighten us on the details of your clutch re-line--PLEASE.
One thought I has was to use Velvet Touch pads to reline said disc. They obviously would not have the full lining area of the original sintered bronze faced unit, but for a hobby machine would no doubt last a long time if not abused overly.
From memory of seeing some on highway truck clutches i believe they use only 4 or so pads per side of their multi disc units--no doubt with massive spring clamping forces--I stand to be corrected.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
MMmm, OK then, not much help as you do not know what linings they used--down here these clutches are gold, and no one we have approached has any idea how to or what to reline them with- -I am talking the sintered bronze type facing.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I want to say the new disk I put in my 5U from General Gear was a pair of pieces of sintered bronze glued to a fiber disk. The facings were definitely a different material to the fiber disk sandwiched in the middle. I would guess Eddie if you could get hold of some wafers of sintered bronze, you could get the local clutch shop to glue them using the same glue they use for brake shoes now. If the fiber material is also available, a few moments on the CNC water jet would get that shape cut out too.
Cheers,
Neil

Hi Team,
we were lucky to have a spare engine that came with the grader as its engine had blown up--so we used the spare but it was well worn also--should be OK for a display unit.
Velvet Touch pads were suggested sometime back by others on here.
Thanks for interest and suggestions Neil.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
