Good afternoon. Anyone got a crank pulley for my D4? Mine has a chunk out of it and who knows how long it ran, but if I can find one I can afford, I would like to replace it. Reply with email or phone number and price. Thank you! Elton

Gemdozer,

Thanks for your offer, but Rome says my dozer uses a 5H4245 pulley. I don't have access to supercesion information, so I don't know it it would work.

Yes and the fan/water pump pulley is 5H4160 Hub and 4F6046 Rim. FP Smith shows one and Norcan Salvage, 509-466-3566, shows some[5H4245].
Your machine would also use a 5H4239 belt.

Do you know about the left hand lock bolt and the right hand pulley bolt? The large nut takes a 2 3/4" six point socket.

Rome,

Thank you again for your help! I have a parts book form 31414 that says from serial numbers 7U27570 up. But it shows the earlier pulley only. I am aware of the left hand right hand bolts. Seems an interesting way to secure a crank bolt, but it has worked all these years without coming off! When I removed the pulley a couple of months ago the puller was really tight and I was wondering if it would ever break loose, but it finally did. And no, I screwed the pull bolts in the holes provided, but someone previously used an arm puller and pulled out the chunks of pulley! I guess we all have lessons to learn. The next struggle will be the steering clutches. They were giving the previous owner trouble 30 years ago. I hope I don't have to use a torch to get them apart! Thanks to all who have replied to me.

Rome,

I drained about 5 gallons out of the right side steering clutch chamber and a couple out of the left, so I am not expecting anything easy there.
