Wanted: radiator cap was created by d4angelo
I am looking for a N.O.S. or real nice condition radiator cap for my D2 5U. Part # 4F5889 Dealer wants $150.00 for the cap. I tried F.P. Smith, Florin and Fresno Tractor with no luck. Thanks in advance.

That is a hard pill. Also the newer ones have a warning about hot water embossed on them if I remember rightly.

I feel that way too somtimes if its pricey from Cat but this is a machine thats considered an antique and if you can still get the new part from Cat and nowhere else then by all means buy it. But I know in some cases its different with other nos parts too.

Correct but late D2s had a cast steel cap 5H4041 on 5U16136-up.
