D4600 Pony motor gas tank cap was created by p100kman

Looking for gas tank cap for D4600 pony twin cylinder motor. Just purchased 1942 12 Grader but has plastic anti freeze cap in place for now. Tried 1" ans 1-1/4" Pipe cap but does not fit, size is in between. Found more information on the cap part# 1A2846. Thanks, but prefer not to start with CAT.

I had to get one from my cat dealer. I don’t recall the cost but I seem to remember that it was pretty inexpensive. Plus it will most likely have a new LEATHER gasket. It is a weird thread pitch - never identified it.

The thread is not a pipe thread, it is some imperial standard straight thread.
