Any way to locate a root rake for this old direct drive unit? S/N 99J168.

Or should I buy and modify?

Keep an eye on Craigslist. I see rakes for various dozers on my local search from time to time. The D6 8U I'm running has a rake that came off a 950 loader and was modified by a professional welder 30+ years ago to fit. If you are or know a good fabricator it may be easier to go that route.
