It's not necessarily a scam. User Olred says they were asking $3000 for it 9 years ago... which of course means he did not buy it and probably no one else did either. Time goes by, the person who thinks it's worth $3k may have passed on, someone gets into a jam and needs it gone. He was friends with someone associated with the land, so that may have given them access to use a photo that Olred took.
If it is a scam, it's not a very good one. 1) It's free. How are you going to get any money? 2) it's not something easily moved or shipped. The scam is usually a car because they can just say I'll ship it to you.

Ok the craigslist said it was in Oregon, but the first poster that looked at it lives in VA? He didn't mention a cross country trip to look at a run of the mill D4
