I have this 1961 36A D8H for sale. It has a working D8D Hyster Winch, direct electric start, new batteries. Undercarriage is great, SALT rails. Runs like a watch. Winch brake could be adjusted, just haven't done it yet. This was purchased new as a dozer, in later years served as a tow tractor, It has a front bumper similar to a 583 sidebom. Fluids have been changed, new final filters, engine oil filters and transmission filters.
Original owner before me is a large pipeline contractor. I always wanted a big Cat for fun, and have enjoyed it. I would like to see it go to a collector. I am asking $16,000 OBO.

Juiceman,

No, Chum would have to go NW to pick up this one.

Funny you should mention Chum. After the BBQ, I am going up into the Sierra foothills above Fresno to see a 2U D8 that belongs to Chum. Then maybe bring it down into the valley.

Is your D8H still for sale? I am at Eastland Texas but I would guess it would cost a considerable amount to ship it from your location to mine.

...

Yes it is still here..This board is the only place I have offered it so far. I agree it would cost some money... Weight restrictions would depend on axles, etc.

I am looking for something to replace my D7 17A that has engine problems and needs to be overhauled. I would need a straight blade and would guess that it would take some looking to find a blade and hydraulic cylinders to fit to yours? Also does it have a hydraulic pump that would handle a blade? Also is it a manual shift tractor?

Hi Tim. I am in the U.K. and have just seen your ad. which is a bit old now. It is a nice original tractor and I hope you got what you wanted for it. I have been looking for one over here, but a nice one is now a rare thing as most have been worked to death or exported, usually to Africa. If I cannot find a nice one here I shall have to start looking over there although I dread to think of what the shipping would be.

Regards John.
