1950-51 vintage. About 1100 hours showing on the meter FWIW. Dakota angle blade. Electric start pony. Looking to get $5000 for it. In the process of tuning up the pony. Replacing it with another machine/project so this one needs to go. Pics here. Should be ready for a new owner in a week or 2.

Hope so. It isn't perfect but would be an easy restore and runs well though the pony decided to give me a headache this weekend. After 2 years of being reliable decided not to start. Going to rebuild the carb and replace points and spark plug wires which should help. Better then anything in the region on Craigslist at the moment.

Did some tinkering, replaced the pony spark plug wires and cleaned the carb on the pony. Cleaned coated pony fuel tank. Once the pony was running the main just like always fired up by the book. Did some grading on the driveway. Changed engine oil in both and put a new thimble on the winch cable. Sunday it gets a bath from a friend. Some fresh pictures and it is on the market. 1112 hours on the clock now. Not perfect but a pretty darn good starting point for someone looking to do a nice restore on one without having to go through everything.

That is a sharp looking D4. Nicely equipped with the blade, (with tilt!) and winch. Probably very well balanced and easy to work. I like the F. O. P. S. and back of head protection for the heavy winching jobs, too.

I guess you'd call that blade a Semi-U, huh? If you extended those side plates top and bottom, you could call it a Carry Dozer!

I hope it finds a good home who will appreciate it as much as you have.

Nice Freightliners and Camaro in the background there, too.

Pete.

Thanks, kenh42.

I have cleaned out my private message mailbox now.

Thanks for the welcome back, too.

I had to take a pause for a while. My old employers decided they wanted to play around in marijuana investments. That would be concern enough, but they decided they wanted to try to borrow from the Federal government to do it and to use me to facilitate the reporting and communication to the lending institutions. Last April I decided I didn't want to be a part of that, so I severed our relationship.

Since then, I've been looking for a job, which takes a surprising amount of time. Without my normal routine and with not much time to spare, I wasn't on the bulletin board much. I didn't have money for adventures, so not much to report anyway and I just got away from here for a while.

Fortunately, I found a new job about a month ago. Now I'm getting back to the normal routine.

It'll take a little longer for the checkbook to recover, but hopefully will have some new adventures to report soon.

Pete.

Hi Pete,
Glad your back on the forum again. Place just wasn’t the same without you and your recovery adventures. :usa2:
