Requests for Bids - 1956 D7 Caterpillar

More
6 years 1 month ago #191642 by nk4289
I have a 1956 D7 Caterpillar located on our property in Southwest Virginia (about 6 miles off I-81: Exit 24 Meadowview) (see photos). Please note, the "stack" does have a cover to prevent rainfall from getting into the engine. According to the former owner, the dozer is a 1956 D7 Caterpillar. It was started about a decade ago. It has a pony engine, but I don't really know much more than that.

Property Address: 10843 Genesis Lane, Abingdon, VA 24210

Sealed Bid Process: Bids must be delivered to the address above no later than November 5, 2018. All bids will be opened at noon on November 6, 2018 at the Kilgore residence (same address as above). I will attempt to contact the successful bidder on the same day. If I am unable to speak with the successful bidder, I will allow 72 hours for a return call and confirmation. After that, I reserve the right to contact the next highest bidder. If you choose to submit a bid, please write in bold letters on the outside of the envelope “SEALED BID ENCLOSED” so that the bid is not opened by mistake before November 6th. Please include name, address, phone numbers, and the bid amount. We reserve the right to reject any or all bids.

Other Details:
The successful bidder will need to move the machine off the property at their own expense. I would prefer sooner as opposed to later but I recognize that daylight hours are decreasing and winter is coming. I think May 15, 2019 is a reasonable timeframe for moving the dozer off the property. However, 25% of the successful bid amount would need to be made within 21 days of notification to the successful bidder. The initial 25% payment could be made by personal check or money order. The balance must be received by the day the machine is to be removed from the property (Cash or cashier's check only).

Thank you again for your interest. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like too arrange an inspection visit.

Bit hard to identify due to poor photos. But I would put it earlier than 1956.
Probably a 3T and not a late one.

A serial number is always nice to have for a bidder and if you can ascertain that each engine can turn over and not froze it should increase the amount of bid

Those tall injection pumps look earlier than mid 50's, more like late 40's

The "Tee" handle on the oil filters give an indication of build era. Might even be a 7M.
Someone with the time and inclination and a parts book would be able to give a serial no range .
Nice tractor all the same . If it were local I would certainly put a bid in on it .
Funny way to sell a tractor though.
