i think its a ford commicalIt looks like it's had a rather interesting repower at one time, as that isn't the original Cat engine but it looks like they did a good job, at least from the pics.

I think it is a 212, although it appears to be a "base model" version so to speak. The military data plate lists the manufacturer's serial number as 1R1092, which would make it one of the early Diesel 212's built somewhere between 1939 and 1943 according to the info I have here. I can see where the side mounted leaning wheel gearboxes should attach to the frame, but the entire front axle is different from the leaning wheel setup. Possibly these could have been ordered this way from the factory? I don't know, or maybe someone reworked this grader by putting a non-leaning front end on it?
