No mile counter on them machines to my knowledge. It would be an hour meter. Most had been replaced or not correct anyway. Unless you are restoring it to perfection, I would not worry about it. For a part time machine you will service because of condensation due to age more often than needing service due to hours.

I would call that a hub odometer. I have seen seen them on trailers, you might adapt one if the correct ratio can be found.

We used them extensively back in the old country and that's how the tax department checked that we were paying road tax. I'm sure they're still available. Veeder-Root make them amongst other manufacturers. Screw in with a 1/4 pipe thread so it's self tightening - others had a bayonet fitting. It won't look old school though with one of these new hubodometers
