The top cover on my 5t was cut into 2 by a previous owner and only requires removal of the starter motor pulley to access the clutch. It makes working on the clutch a lot easier

There was a technical bulletin from Cat with instructions on how to cut the old one piece covers as well.

Mine was so well done I didn't discover it until I took the top cover off and saw a little gasket sealer around the joint

I have not had any luck bidding on used government equipment. People just go crazy and bid them up ridiculously high. Your mileage may vary.
