Hi guys,
I have a question I need some opinions on. I am looking at selling or trading my D6C 76A for a newer D5H XL and don't know where to price it fair for both the buyer and me the seller. I am honestly not sure of the hours I have not taken the metal cap off the meter and looked. It is an average machine for its age. I have owned it since 2012 and has been a great machine to get me started. It runs and shifts really good and the steering clutches are in great shape too. It has a few normal oil leaks such as the lift cylinders and etc. The negative is the undercarriage is shot. I have one I can pick up for around 4,000.00 and put under it. It is a very nice carriage off a 6D that only had a few hundred hours on it before the old machine had a cabin fire. I don't know whether to sell as is and hook somebody else up with the undercarriage for cheap or install myself for a better machine price. I am just looking at my options and any opinions would be great. I am hoping between my lowboy and 6 I can come up with a decent down payment on this 5 I want. Thanks for any help guys.

you can go on to rich brother auction and look up auction results for that machine and see what they brought. cus you know that's what they sold for that day. not what someone might be asking for it. plus you can see your area. but that being said other than the u/c why get rid of it. the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

Unless that $4,000 undercarriage is like brand new, I think your value will increase by about the value of what you paid for the tracks. If you don't mind the work it might make it easier to sell with a good undercarriage.

Had a 74A locally sell on line for 14k plus fees = +\- $16,000.00
It had what I believe was a Dakota blade, and the u/c looked well used, but the seller had brand new segments on it.

Hi guys,
Thank you for all of your replies so far I took everyone's advice and will definitely use it to help with my decision. From what I found on machinery trader and the cali d6 if I were to ask 14k as is does that sound like a fair price or to much to everyone? If anybody else has any ideas, opinions, etc please feel free to let me know.
Ps Roger,
I found my cat 12 grader books finally so I will get them and get you my copies asap and so sorry about the wait, it has been busy and completely forgot.
Thanks again
Cody
