I would try Weller tractor salvage if he needed to look outside Australia. They specialize in graders of all makes.

A lot of parts inside the 770bh trasnmission were interchangeable with the ag version of the same 8 spd powershift tranny. JD has an excellent parts website

If all else fails Thill Tractor in Eau Claire, Wisconsin usually has a hundred plus graders on hand. I hope you can get what you need closer though.

I've been running jd graders for a county highway dept for many years. We have had probs with deere transmissions for many years. Series b through the gs. I would cut my losses I were you. I know it's easier said than done but they are costly.
