That is quite a set of shop pictures. You can't see a set of bays filled like that, probably anywhere else in the world! It'll be exciting to see all that big iron rolling at Santa Margarita. Garlic Mom is excited about gear jamming with a set of doubles. Not sure how her passengers are going to feel, but all I can say is "Tighten the straps and hold on!"

Anyone who ever has a chance to go to Cat Night in Petaluma shouldn't miss it. The experience, the shop, the food and the company are second to none.

Thanks for posting, Glen. Those of us who lay in the dirt under a tree like to see how the other side lives, shop wise.

Pete.

Hey Jan,

Being in the country has some draw backs to it too. It was disclosed in the property documents, that being in the country puts you in risk from delays from Fire Department Protection. I thought it would be wise to protect the farm, so I let Tom convince me into buying a 1942 Mack Fire Pumper Truck too. I tried uploading a picture of it but I'm having trouble posting them. The '42 Mack will sister up with my '49 Mack Fire Tender Truck. We already converted the '49 into our "Worm Truck". It hauls worm boxes full of red wiggles worms in them, wine barrels carrying Worm Tea, and a super sack of Worm Castings used in Organic Farming. The Fresh Organic Vegtables selling at the Farmers Markets will compliment our Organic Worm Farm.
Also there is a 1928 Model AA Ford with extra long produce bed that has a gear reduction box behind the tranny. The truck is cool and has a roadster style cab on it too. It's a crowd pleaser.

Jan, you need to come visit. There is a lot that has been going on. It will blow your mind what's happened lately. Next to the "Hay Field" we have a new fenced rocked 3 acre yard recently completed. The hay field is Happy. This year I got a 251% increase in yield of red oats off the field by mixing the seed with the worm castings and drilling it. Increadable.... So, if your in the area, stop by, new trucks, new Cats, new property... Burning Rubber Baby...

Hey Glen, I think you are pretty good at spending your own money but if I need to be the whipping boy to "justify" your purchases so be it.:flypig: I will admit that I conspired with you on some D9's, parts D 9's, some antique trucks, a water wagon and I am sure some other stuff. If you want to hang me with the new ranch I am good with that too. I now have an Oshkosh truck, a 17A D7 and a really nice 966 C that you "convinced" me to buy so hey I guess we are both really good at helping our buddies spend their money. Maybe too you influenced me just a bit to jump into the military equipment gig with both feet. Just saying!!

What we can all agree on is that there will be lots of really cool stuff at Santa Margarita for all to enjoy because there are a few obsessive compulsive personalities that collect old iron in the western part of the United States. Oh, and Glen, that ain't just you and me buddy as will be seen in less than 7 months.

Hey Tom,

Let me apologize for my "Pick On" style in these threads. Even Jan brought it to my attention that he felt some personal attacks upon him, after Mike. Jan was correct... "I did have fun picking on Jan"... hahaha... I took his constructive criticism and treated it like SALT. A little puts a nice flavor too it, too much, it ruins the taste of things, requires some spit out, and wash down. Thanks for letting me put some Flavor upon the "Ritchie Bros Auction Experience." :cool2:

No need to apologize as it is all in good fun. Besides, I probably like a bit more salt with my meat than Walt.:boom:

".....I took his constructive criticism and treated it like SALT." "SALT as in Sealed and Lubricated Tracks?" Huh?
Didn't Glen just tell us he put SALT tracks on the D9? I think SALT is going into his head! I'm trying to follow this "track"............??????

Oh yeah, all in good fun. We all need to thank both Tom and Glen for spending each other's $ so we can have toys to play with and admire!

Now he is right about coming in for CAT NIGHT. I went once and will go again if I ever find myself up that way on a Tuesday night. Go if you can. But I see the shop only has trucks in it. Maybe he is going to start an OLD WHEELS NIGHT. I hope the military wagon gets a ride West as I can see the motive power for it in the pictures.

Hey Jan,

What are you doing in Texas? I thought you were doing a Bridge in Arizona? Ha... I'm lost...or are you??? Drove the around the Hay field you helped grade last year. Tonight on my way home I had to stop to take a picture of the sun setting over the week old seeded field. What a Kodak moment!!! Also, here's a picture of some of the new farms vegetables my wife picked yesterday. Life's good...

Glen,

The bridge job in AZ fell through so I took a 6 month job in Texas for FEMA. I thought the other day I saw a 14A sitting out in a field so I turned around to have a look but it turned out to be 46A cable blade. I also saw a DW-15 with compactor wheels for the drivers. I'll keep looking as I travel around.

Those are beautiful veggies! My wife would love to put those in her skillet! Are you really raising table veggies along with everything else you have going???? Too much!!!! The hay field looks good to. Also, it looks like it finally quit raining on you up there. Those were massive storms a few weeks back that hit the NW.

Jan,

Shucks, I was just down in Texas twice in two weeks... Went on a Peterbilt tour at their Texas facility. While there we went to the stock yards, and a tour of the ATT stadium of the Dallas Cowboys. That is a pretty cool stadium and a great tour. They were switching fields and rolling up the Astro Turf. It was pretty cool to watch all the fork lifts running around and crews getting after it. Very interesting.

Yes, veggies on the table... You know two years ago when Mrs Honey had cancer she asked me to go to the store for her on my way home. I was standing in front of the Safeway store looking up and shaking my head...WTF... and some lady walked up and asked if I needed help. I was riddled? "Where did Safeway go," I asked? She giggled at me and pointed to the other end of the mall and said, "over there silly." I then asked, "How long has it been there?" She replied, "10 months!!!" I was embarrassed and said thank you... hahaha... Shows you how much I go to the store... So I walked in and was in Awe at such a fancy and New Store. I kind of just people watching and observed all the new lay out in front of me. I then walked up to the produce isle. What??? Now what's this??? I thought to myself. Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Carrots on the left... $2, and Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Carrots on the Right...$10??? WTF... It took me 10 minutes to figure it out. On the left side, Two people. On the Right side 12 people like Swarming over each other. I was so amazed I just stopped and stood still for 10 more minutes watching and counting. The people weren't bothered by the prices. They didn't shop for value. They were almost fighting over getting their Organic Veggies? People in our area are driven by this Organic Thingy... So, along came the Worm Farm to grow the Organics... it's like a full circle now. They Worm Castings will grow the Veggies. The Veggies go to the Farmers Markets on the Antiques and they Sell. The Fresh Eggs sell there too. The Sheep eat the Hay from the field that Jan graded, and I make casting from the other end with the Worms... and it cycles through again... hahaha... I'll have to charge more for my Organic Veggies though, because it takes a lot longer to get to the Farmers Market in my 1917 Antique Truck.
