need the bottom portion of the grill shell for my 8T grader. It is a long shot and shipping would be a problem. Maybe one in California.

When you say grille shell, are you looking for the cast lower tank? I think the 8T has the one piece pressed iron with screen chaff guard over the radiator opening, then the cast top and bottom tank with bolted cast side plates spacing the two tanks and pinching the radiator core flanges in the middle.

If I'm right and you really need the cast bottom radiator tank then the question would be is the grader radiator different from the tractor radiator on a D318. If the same tank is used on both the grader and tractor, your options and likelihood of success will be much higher. Oil Slick had a number of D-6 and R-5 parts around, including I think, some radiators and parts. We might be able to find you one close by. If not, I might know where there are some other stashes of D-6 and D318 grader parts around which we could check out.

If I'm off base on the exact part you need, straighten me out or post a picture and we'll get on the right track.

Pete.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the information, Magnet.

oldbeek - I may be able to locate a trove of grader parts (some still attached to good graders) in the near future. I'll keep you posted and your need in mind. They're not far away, so if there is a loose bottom tank in the mix, we'll make sure you're taken care of.

It is a cast iron piece that protects the bottom radiator tank. It can be removed with radiator still intact. Casting # 4F7841 . Mine has a hole knocked in one corner and some cracks.. May be time to learn to weld/braze cast iron.

I think your referring to the radiator support bracket that attaches to the engine. Part # 8B3048 Bracket.

Thill Tractor in Eau Claire, WI. has a couple hundred graders in there yard plus a few warehouses full of parts. There is a Fastenall in Eau Claire so they may be able to ship you one half way reasonable if they have one.
