D2 Pony Oil Drain Pipe

More

Hi all, My recent acquisition, a D2 4U (5938) has had the pony oil drain pipe broken off  sometime in the past and now has the drain blocked off. Does anyone have a spare part # 8B2727 that they would sell?

I checked my D4 parts manual just to see if they both used the same drain, but the part number is 8B 2728, so I assume they are different.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom, I have both the long and short version of the drain. Thinking I'm going to install the short version to avoid catastrophes....

Hi Neil! Is that the difference between the 2727 and 2728...length? I'm assuming the oil in this pony hasn't been changed since they broke the drain pipe...scary thought. For the life of me, I don't know why Cat would have used cast aluminum in the first place. :frusty:

Probably Tom. I like the short one because a plastic hose can easily be slipped over it when draining

They made several versions of that drain pipe, the last one being copper tube.
