Hey TomSeaBee,
Thank You for your Service. Send me a PM with your address. I'll send the manual to you. I don't want $ for it. You decide what it's worth with shipping, then take those $ and donate it to a charity. I gave to the local Vets helping Vets group. Do the same. Pass along Good Will.

That control panel is way beyond anything normally supplied with a D311 Genset. Have you tried researching military manuals. There are thousands of free access manuals available. Would help to have some identifying numbers.
Hi OM,
Yeah, the control panel was the second shock associated with this genset. The first shock was the weight when it came time to take it home.
I've attached two more images of the tags. The serial number is Cat as expected but the rest is Canadian numbers and I'm not holding my breath looking for any of this to show up on line. I was kind of looking for a work-a-round and bypass all the bells and whistles. It was putting out good power when I first got it, so I know it works. I think it's just a excitation issue.
Thanks

Can't quite make out the last number of the NSN 4--3?
and the RCAF section & Ref #......
Here's some info on the more common gen set but I don't think it will do much good with your arrangement.

The genset came from the Montreal area but it came from a individual and I'm not sure if the unit was from the RCAF in that area.
I would appreciate your brother's efforts.
Thanks,
Tom

I can't make out the numbers on my picture either. I'll have to check the tag in person. It's curious looking at the two tags, they seem to have different serial numbers. The 5s on one tag (I think an original tag) looks like 8s on the other. I believe this is just a artifact of the picture but will recheck that as well.
Thanks for the 2 jpegs. It's more than I have at this point.

A Canadian company.

Thanks Daron. Very interesting info for background on this genset. It would be interesting to know what created the need for the complicated control circuitry for the RCAF version of this genset.
