Holt 10 ton piston was created by farquharmike

I am finally getting started on a 10 ton project and havs a piston with a cracked skirt. I am in need of a piston, or does anyone know if one out of a 45 engine will work. I was told some parts are the same.

I am not sure how to tell the vintage. It came to me in pieces, and I have not found a serial #. My best guess from the information I have would be a later Holt.

Does this engine have valve covers?

I believe that the late 10 ton engine is a larger bore than the early 10 ton/holt 45 engine. Post a picture of your piston and its diameter. I will see if I can match it up. Also check it inside and out for a casting number or stamped part number.
