Was just wondering if anybody in US or Canada ever seen a late 9U D6, with the Cat hard nose hyd bulldozer blade and Cat rear mounted ripper No 6.. The late 9U had the twin fan-belt .We never seen the Cat No 6 ripper here in Aussie ,, mostly here in Queensland they fitted a STANDEN built in Sydney I think .. I think the late serial number was about 27,000up.They also had a little more HP.... Thanks for any help ... My guess would be the ranch clearing-sales maybe!> ..pete

I know where ther is a 9u with hydraulic blade and rippers. Don't know what serial number but. It started out its life as a logging tractor in tassie. Originally had a winch on the back but that was removed to fit the rippers

Twin belt models started at 9U29211 out of 29764 built.
Here is the #6 ripper as removed from a 977. Sold several years ago.
Pretty stout piece of iron.

Thankyou for info fellows ,,For,$12500 I would want those nice rippers on as well I think! ,, And yes it is in good condition by looks ,, if it were in CA , would go look soon .. Not sure if its the later one though . I know of at least 3 or 4 of the later 318s here in Qld only one with blade ,,, they were in the 32A serial # here in Aussie and 31A for narrow gauge . They sure are good rippers .. There must be a set in Aussie on a track loader someplace, I guess!?. Thankyou again ,, will keep looking ,,,, maybe find one next summer US time ,, when over there. Regards pete...most of that model here if have bulldozer on are in fairly rough shape now .. Not like that nice one in VA !

It wasn't cheap. As I recall (vaguely) it was about $1800 asking.
About the same time good used ag tractors were going for $2500 or less.
Seen a couple of twin belt 8U's but no 9U's.
