Hi Guys,
I recently purchased CAT 955C and I have a question on the gear configuration. I was told that the machine has a high and low gear but since it's not labeled at all I'm at a loss for which gear is what.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. The gear configuration is 2 rows X 3 columns

Old magnet, where do you get all of these helpful diagrams? I purchased a service manual (waiting for it to get here). Is there any other books that you'd recommend getting?

Also, what gear do you recommend working in? By working and I mean pushing stumps and brush piles? I'm guessing low gear

There is a lot of useful stuff in the "Operation and Maintenance Instruction" manual for the 955 Traxcavator, 12A1-up. Form # FEO31433-06. The 06 being edition #6. See them on ebay occasionally.
Along with the service manual, you need the Parts Manual and the D315 engine manual.
There is also a hard to find supplemental "Service Information for Caterpillar No. 955 Traxcavator" Form #32225 (8-1/2 x 11 size) 51 pages.
