Helping a friend sell his 1952 D4 that he no longer needs. I have not seen a D4 cable angle blade dozer with a set up like this before. Looks pretty heavy duty like D7's/D8's. My understanding - friend is the third owner ((#1-Forestry Service) (#2- 'Collector(?)) and has owned this D4 for about the last 15 years.
D4 appears to be in excellent condition - little or no oil leaks. Ran excellent when parked 2 years ago. Undercarriage seems in very good shape - pins feel new, sprocket teeth are not sharp, front idlers measure about .072"(?), grousers have been built up to look almost new. Electric start pony with fairly new mag rebuild. Cables replaced several years ago but used very little. Has all the sheet metal for the D4. And yes that is a tree painted on the fuel tank -- from when it was in the forestry service, we guess?
The cable controls are by Kay Brunner Steel licensed from LeTourneau. See name plate photo-Interesting information concerning grease/oils to use on unit. Not sure of manufacture of total dozer package. NOTE: Blade can be adjusted so that it is a straight blade or angled to the left as well as the right.
D4Serial #17822 Located Central Coast of CA Asking Price = $6500
I will pass on all offers/reply's. Thanks for looking.

What a neat little unit I have never seen a nose cone ect like that on a D4 before I would think for that money it should sell like hot cakes if only I lived in the US I would be all over that like yogi bear with a picnic basket
Good luck with the sale
Paul
That PCU on the back looks huge on a D4

Just found out this one is in my own back yard.
Glen, this one would look good in your stable. It is not too far from your last play day and hopefully the next play day.

Rollers appear to need help as the flanges are hitting the pin bosses and the grousers have had new steel stock welded to them.

Chuck:
I love the cable blade set up with the big winch that you directed me to in the Dayton area. There is one like that in a museum around here that has 2,000 +/- hours and is almost identical. The local one with the hard nose set up is neat but a bit too expensive for my taste.
