I have a 977H 53A I'm going to junk the engine has new bearings in it. The crank was cut .050 the one bearing had to have re-done because they don't sell it anymore. Engine has new exhaust manifold and turbo housing both are rusty from sitting outside on machine. I had a new battery box and shifting assembly made. I have new filters for whole machine plus new exhaust stack. Machine has 4 in 1 bucket I had one cylinder completely re-done all engine panels are painted in my garage. I would like to see someone get some use out of these parts. I live in western Pennsylvania in Darlington 45 min north of Pittsburgh

I have need of a good used engine for 1966 977H. I do not have the engine arrangement number which vendors ask for. The tag must have come off. We bought this
machine new in 1966 and the serial number is 53A7625. We used the machine sparingly and still has less than 8000 hours. If unable to locate engine, we will consider selling the machine for parts. It has a root rake and extra set of heavy tracks to go with it. According to Caterpillar's last inspection its stated as "overall good condition"

What is the serial number of your machine and what do you have to have for the engine or the whole tractor..
