The complete package for the 173 Hydraulic System including the parts book, operation and maintenance instructions manual and the protective envelope.
These books are in excellent condition and appear unused. It does look as though something heavy was stored on top of these packages causing the oil from the weather resistant protective envelopes to transfer on to the parts books(see photos).

how close would these be to a 1968 D7E

I just replied to your post in DISCUSSION. These manuals are for the early 160 h.p. D7E, your 1968 model is the later 180 h.p. tractor. I purchase Caterpillar manuals in lots from different sources from time to time. I have recently found and sold 2 service manuals for your machine but they are becoming harder to find. Let me know if you want me to look for one for you.
