The seller has it listed as a 1942 model, but it is most likely an early production 4U being that it has a Sylphon oil pressure gauge and not a SW gauge. Wow, most decals are still on the machine and in real good shape for their age. Main has a thrown rod, the seller has the parts to repair. Hard to see the shape of the undercarriage but the one brake pedal that is shown does not show a lot of heavy boot usage. Located in Royal Oak. Michigan. Item#301494880970. 1 bid so far. Too bad it's so far away. A straight looking little Cat.

Reveals the Idler is not sitting on the floor, same as Sprocket appears to be elevated slightly? Looking at sag in Rail verses the length of adjustment plus the Pads still come to a point? Along with the fact the Drawbar pin hole appears round, not elongated from usage. I would judge the Undercarriage in VERY GOOD condition!
If he has all the repair parts, I would say it is definitely worth snatching up as an early Model variation!

Looks like the final seals are leaking allot of oil. Looks like allot of time is needed for this one. Nice though.

I'll admit, if this one were closer to me I'd really be serious about picking it up. The thrown rod thing is a big issue, would like to at least see what the block looks like. With the oil stains on the floor directly under it, it makes me believe it's been "ventilated" a bit. And to my eyes, it looks like it could use a pin and bushing turn - check out how much exposed adjuster thread there is, looks close to the maximum recommended 3 1/2". Also look at how the sprocket teeth are going to have to "pull in" the next available bushing that's about to engage the tooth, it's not excessive but it's starting to run out of pitch a bit. Other than that, the rails, rollers, idlers, sprockets, and grousers look pretty decent. The seat tank isn't even dented, it's clean and straight with original decals, and it's got the pto on the back that I've been searching for to accomodate the angle drive belt pulley I picked up a few years ago. I just wish it was closer...

If OIH is too retired to drive that far, we can always work something out to get it into Wisconsin as I have space for a few months. I would be curious to know what "All Parts to Repair it" means. Maybe time to email questions to Seller??

Listen to yourselves, you guys are supposed to be talking me OUT of it, not offering assistance and encouragement! :tape::tape::lalala:

Yeah with a bad block (most likely) this tractor may be beyond making whole again, but I still can't totally write it off either. Lots of good parts sitting there.
