d8 2u sprockets was created by Crossed
I am looking for new sprocket segments for a d8 2u serial number 21902. The shop I am using has located two new ones in Canada for around $550 each plus $500 for shipping to Missouri. $1600 total. I am new to this dozer ownership! Does this sound like a fair deal? If anyone knows where I can find some for less money please let me know. Thank you.

I am confused ,Are you saying segments ,sprocket rims or hole sprockets ?
Too my knowledge there were no segments for a 2U unless someone has fabercated D8H rims and segment s and changed the pitch to 9" Could be a lot of difference in pricing

Sprocket adapter rims and segments were produced for the 2U with 8" pitch. Ring #4S9077 and segment #4S9112 (7 segments per side).
These are considered non-current production items so I suspect there are not a lot of them out there. Those prices don't surprise me

The 9" pitch upgrade uses a 5S0121 ring and 5S0122 segments (5 per side)

better find out what you are looking at I am thinking those are sprocket rims you weld them on to your old centers if that is the case make sure your centers are in good shape as in the spines

I am looking for segments, rings, or sprockets. I just want to find out what is available and what they cost. The shop has located sprocket rings. They say my sprockets have never been cut on or welded, and the centers are good. I would like to stay with the 8" pitch as I have another complete d8 2u that has a bad transmission(no 1st and 2nd forward- all other gears work) but excellent rails, pins, and tracks. The plan is to swap the tracks but my sprockets need replaced. Thanks for the part #s Old Magnet

The parts you're looking for havent been made by Cat or the aftermarket for years. There is no 8" pitch D8 undercarriage manufactured anymore. Yes something could be in the back of someone's warehouse or shop. Good odds in 8" pitch case, price isn't your the problem, it's whether you can it or not. Good luck.

Try here for the regular weld on rims.
They list the 9B2897, expect they will be pricey if they have them.

Couple of rings up in Canada. May be the ones your are communicating with?

Old Magnet. They probably are the ones the shop has been in contact with! I did not have the part number 9b 2897 in any of my searches. Thank you. I will call Henderson tomorrow to see what they say. What do you think about using the weld in cups that Mr. Pigeon makes up in North Dakota. I am really thinking of going with his product as it would be much less expensive.

Weld in cups have been used forever, seem to work fine, especially if the labor is free. LOL

Please let us know if Henderson still has the rims.
