You have a big 20 in the last pic posted not a 8C or ( Small 20 ) This is what the 8C looks like. Yours looks nice. Hope this helps.

So this unit is considered a big 20 most likely made in Peoria around 1932? Serial Number should be a PL series?

Ok, thank you. Would this be a new model due to the yellow paint? I had read that they were normally grey up to the end of 1931.

All the Caterpillars made up to 12/7/31 would have been gray. I am sure some gray machines that did not sell would have been painted yellow to move them along. When you find the serial number that will tell you if it should be gray or yellow. When you are sitting in the seat look down to the left on the tranny top right below the brass shifting plate and clean there. You should find it

Bronson still in business in Loves Park? He may have something if so. That is a PL machine. your photo looks like our 20.

Well you are right I found a Bronson Enterprises from Loves Park, IL on the internet. Looks like he works with mags and carbs. I will give them a call and see if they are still around. Thank you.
