G'day. Your best bet might be for someone who has a good set of straight guards to take lots of photo's and measurements and then fabricate them.

I happen to have 2 D7 3T and 3 D7 17A in Mom's backyard. She won't like me selling parts off them, but I'm willing to take the risk if the price is right.

I forgot to look at serial numbers, but I'm sure the 3T sheet metal will work for you guys. I kind of suspect that the 17A stuff might work, too. The sprocket covers on the 17A are a little different than a 3T, but I think the mounting holes are still the same. We tore up one sprocket cover on one 3T getting it to move around. It could be repaired, but would take some work.

If neither of you boys are in a hurry, we'll have one container going to Brisbane and one to Melbourne, both leaving within a month or so. I'm not sure what to say about price for these covers. I would probably have you talk to and pay buddy Gary in Brisbane, that keeps it all on the AU side of things.

If you're interested, let me know here, send an email to me at pbloom (at) ymail (dot) com or send one to Gary at gazoncats (at) gmail (dot) com.

Here are pics of what I have available.

Those covers look pretty darn straight to me, and even better there is a container heading to Melbourne with space for them too, sure is great when folks go out of their way to help each other on this old Cat journey, for little or no big financial rewards, too bad those Inter folks can't be so accommodating, and no Ashcat, I'm not carrying those covers home on the plane as hand luggage for you!!:eyebrows:

I'm hoping to visit Garlic Pete and Garlic Mom in the next few weeks, if GM is too cut up about losing the covers I'll try and sweeten her up with some quality Aussie chocolate Cherry Ripes or Crunchie Bars.

Git back over to your Red Power mates, and tell them what a nice bunch of folks we are here in Caterpillar land, and you better airmail a big box of Cherry Ripes to Bakersfield for Garlic Mom before I arrive, I've heard she's not one to get cross if there is a good stick handy for giving cheeky boys a hiding!
