This is a fairly complete tractor. Just missing two carrier rollers, sediment bowl, mag. cover but not much else. The big problem is the crankcase is full of water and the engine is stuck. I was told that it was running when parked (Ever hear that one B4?) about 1970 and did not seize up to bring it to a stop. Therefore, the bottom bearings, crank etc. MAYBE not all that bad. The owner did hook his pickup to it and it will roll backward for loading. Both steering clutches when pulled seem to be loose as well as both brakes. I failed to check the wear on the brake pedals but the U/C seems about 50%. The young man selling it inherited it from his grandfather. He told me his great great uncle bought it new in? and it spent its entire working life on the ranch upon which it still sits. No Bill of Sale or books of any kind exist that he knows of. See my other post response on Serial Numbers on THIRTYs and you will see that I was not able to determine its age. He's asking $2000 but he has to get it off the property within 6 weeks so that works in favor of a buyer. There is a running Ford tractor for sale too which can assist in loading the Cat. He also has a big Adams Pull Grader Model 121. I guess it dates about 1938 or so. The tires on it as sunk into the ground up to the rims so it has not moved for a long time.

Thanks Jan. It is nice to have someone in the CAT family that lives close to check these out. I have some engine concerns on this 30. Supposedly it was in a barn till about 15 years ago. It has a 90 on the exhaust and the air intake has a cover. Hemet is not known for a lot of rain. Where did all the water come from? Could be a cracked block from one of our Calif freezes and the water drained into the block from the radiator. You could put water in the radiator and see where it goes. G
