Hey Gang,
I had many calls into Steve and couldn't get a return call. I had others try too. I had a Cat shipped from Ohio to Ca and had a good experience and great price on U ship. I had to wait for their time frame, but I was OK with that.

He does not go to CA anymore as the trucks he runs are not emissions friendly for that state. The cost of upgrading does not pay. This info came from him as I have just talked to him not to long ago. Hope this helps

U-ship is as good as the hauler. I shipped my 212 home via U-Ship. After booking it on a Monday with a promised Friday delivery (his promise, not my asking for that date), I got many excuses by the trucker as to why he could not get to it yet. It was over a month behind the promised delivery date when he finally delivered. My bigger issue is with U-Ship itself. After 3 weeks with no delivery, my trucker next door neighbor had a load to go to within 40 miles of my grader. He offered to haul it back for me. I contacted U-Ship to cancel as the trucker had repeatedly broke his promises. U-Ship informed me that in addition to keeping the $94.00 booking fee they would also withhold from me $250.00 as a cancelation fee plus 10% of the total shipping price. The 10% could be applied to a future shipment within a year. All in all they were going to charge me $594.00 for the trucker failing to deliver. None of this information is available until after you book. I sat it out and he finally delivered. As far as the hauling it was chained on correctly and seemed to make the trip OK. It took 8 days after it was finally loaded. This guy also had a great satisfaction rate on U-Ship. Just want folks to know what they could be getting into.
Roger

That's a horror story Roger - my two shipments went ok and on time but it's good to know that about uship - an example of how not to keep a customer
Cheers,

Contact the following for very good service:
Al Jarosz with Pioneer Transport: <a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." target="_blank">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
or
Roger with Associated Freight: <a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." target="_blank">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I have used these companies many times with no problems.
I regularly ship 100's of loads a year and it is very hard to get freight moved right now.
It all boils down to how much it pays and from what pickup location to delivery.
If no loads can be found from the delivery region then it will be harder to get your load booked.
With the National DOT inspection a few weeks ago many operators decided not to even haul during that time which caused a major delay in shipping.
I have a small operation with only three semis and every year it is getting harder to operate with all the fees and constant changes from the DOT.
The High price of fuel, tires and general maintenance plus all the regulations pretty soon there will not be any owner operators
