This was mounted on the right side of the engine. It has a RH helix drive. The starter was installed in 1994. When the batterys went out 2 years ago i got a pony 4 it. It worked fine but the engine was hard to start in the winter. I been informed this setup will fit others (see below). What u see is priced $300.00. Probably best to call, 5zero8 333 933six. Its located in nw indiana. Thanks 4 looking.

Hi Mike,
I need to correct myself on the drive helix. That is a right hand helix so it will fit the D4 D4400 and D315 as well as the D6 D4600 and D318 if you notch the lever housing for 12-pt cap screw wrench clearance. Also will fit the D330 and D333 and others with starter mounted on RH side of engine. With that adapter plate I'm thinking it may also be mounted to the early D7's. All these use clockwise rotation starter.

If they were all that great they would still be using them.

From the looks of that drive that starter has been barely used.

*i know:frusty:but in there time its what they had. Just to many moving parts to maintain and try to find.:frusty::frusty: Then modern electrical stuff came along, "progress".

*from 1948 to 2009 it was a backup powerplant 4 a applesauce factory near lancaster pa.. i drug it out of the basement/mechanical area and hauled it home. hr meter shows 8600. i wish i had the money, i'd fix it up navy new and get its swabbie chrome parts replated.

4got this 1.
