Located in NW IOWA, I have a perfect running and working model 12 grader, has a scarifier ripper and a 12ft hydraulic side shift blade, has a wet clutch and high and low tranny and a cab, I plan on takeing the engine out and use it in a d6 dozer, and cut the rest up for scrap.or would consider selling it whole, ca!! seven*one*two three*five*eight ten*eight*two,

If you don't sell the whole machine I would be interested in scarifier shanks and retainers. Perhaps other parts. I have a newer model and would need to check on compatibility. I will call.

Seems extreme to sacrifice a good functioning unit just for a D318 engine.

Replied by old-iron-habit on topic My thought exactly

I was thinking the same thing. If I had not picked up my 212 recently, I would definitely be looking.

What you're looking at is a sales tactic. Since we're all fans of Cat, he knows that appealing to our desire to not see a 'good machine' cut up, he figures someone will jump to save it

Cheers,

Well boys I guess this is what I get for trying to help somebody out, Most people here in the midwest, UNLIKE people that live near a coast or washington dc,MEAN what we say, I Run ,OWN ( used MY own money to buy ) and operate older equipment, and know how hard to find parts at a resonable price, to keep older things running,I thought why not put it out there, and help somebody get there machine running, before I send it to china. Why would I buy a motor for a $1500 to $2500 from a salvage yard that has been sitting outside for 40yrs,and pay shipping starting at around $1000,WHEN I drove this one home 20 miles and used it for 3 hrs,and know the guy that owned it from new and serviced by zigler cat. TALK IS cheep, EQUIPMENT cost money,Most of us are outside working ,and don't have time to sit on the computer, bragging about how much they "think" they know !!!!!! I will sell the tranny and drives and cab, What is left after I pull the motor, For $250 a ton across the scale,I figure around 5 to 6 ton, I have 5 13.00x24 tires on rims for sale and 3 more not mounted.

Where are you taking your scrap to. You are not that far from me. Our local scrap price is nowhere near what you are getting.
