Wanted winch for D47U

Hi everyone,
I'm in the market for a winch for my D47U I purchased from another member of this forum last week. Hoping to find someone within a couple of hundred miles from zip code 61364 which is Streator, IL

I do not have a PTO on mine crawler, and I honestly don't know if there is a hydraulic version, or if I need a PTO driven one, if so Im guessing I would be looking for the complete setup.

If you have one you would like to sell please let me know either by phone, 815-822-4225 or send me a PM.

Thankyou, Mike

Mike, one option is the Hyster D4/D4N which comes with all the bits it needs. It has a shaft that connects up with the transmission output shaft - it does have a removable coupling which sometimes go missing so if you find one, make sure it comes with that coupling. The only other parts are the bracing straps from the top of the winch to the top of the transmission housing, and the controls that sit on the right side fender. Roger (Old Iron Habit) might also know which Gearmatic option was available for the D47U.

Cheers,
Neil

On a Discussion post on 3/30/14 there are pictures of a Gearmatic winch on a D2. The post is titled D2 Canopy. Not sure if Cat or dealer ever installed them or they have been added as a clean aftermarket install. The Gearmatics are quite easy to adapt to many machines as they only need an input shaft to operate. All controls are in the one lever brake fluid controller. They are all free fall out and power in. Like everything old the smaller Model 8 and Model 9 are getting harder to find. If thinking about going that way stay away from a Model 19 if possible. They almost took a second winch to pull the cable out. I have a spare Model 20 in the shed but it may be oversized for a D4.
