Several old friends. In a roundabout way the books were from an old local Dealer we had here in Hudson NY back in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Burtnett Implement also sold John Deere. They were pretty much done by 1960. One old friend (Passed on a few years back.) ended up with some of the early books back in the day. I used to pick though the books when I was hanging around his shop and he told me where they came from. And another, a local repair man ended up with some of the later stuff and is now in his 70's and retired. He worked for T. Southworth in the 60's and 70's and was on his own for a number of years, so many of the later books were from there. One of the guys in the Burtnett shop was called "Uncle Louie" and he must have also worked around Long Island at one time. Some of the Books are marked Green Island Contracting, Long Island NY. By fate these books ended up in my possession. Here is a photo of a Salt and Pepper Shaker from the Burtnett. Company.

I would think so. I found it in an old house I was cleaning out just down the street from where the Dealer was. Amazing it survived in unused condition. The folks that owned the house were packrats. Dandy Dave!
