Please excuse my ignorance, what did they do different in a "high output" Sixty engine? Bore? Stroke? Compression? RPM? Camshaft?

VERY nice Sixty, definitely on my bucket list.

Thanks

Bruce P

I was told the later sixty's had a different head.

The only reference I can find in the Tractor Attachment book for the Sixty (form 3098) lists a Cylinder Group, part # 1A4159, for use at altitudes above 5000" consisting of:
4- 1A4164 cylinder assemblies
4- 3570-A pistions
20- 3569-A rings
4 1A742 pins

One of the Parts books, form 3757, does list several heads by part number, the only difference I can see is in the last one, # 1A2158, the exhaust valve goes to 3 3/16" from 3".

I have never seen a reference to a "high output" Sixty (that does mean it isn't out there).

I have had two people tell me there was a difference. I would like to know if and what makes it a higher output motor. I was told the head?? I was not aware of it until somebody brought it up to me. If anybody has any information I am all ears.

Hello, I have a sixty that was converted to butane, it has the bigger 6 3/4" bore cylinders with about 1/2"- 3/4" shaved off the heads to run on the butane fuel. I run it on gasoline and it runs good! Eb Bottimore told me that sixtys set up like this running on gasoline were like a hotrod, and they would really run, but if you werent careful, the engine would break cranks and such. This would not be a factory setup of course, but would be a little higher output i think. Caterpillarman

Tyler's 60 does not have the shaved heads. Tyler's 60 is set up with the factory big bore @ 6 3/4.

Thanks Guys. As I love the equipment, I am not an expert (still learning). I do remember talking about a bigger bore with someone. As for the term "High Output", that could have come from my interpretation of it having a bigger bore, etc.
