Hi Lance, try Scott Flint for the louvered panels, I'm pretty sure that he may make them for the twenty two!

I saved an exhaust manifold from a grader engine, it has a lot of pitting and is not pristine. I think it stopped raining today, I will get a pic.

May be a long shot but in 2005 I was able to buy a new aftermarket exhaust manifold for the D318 (better made than Cat) from Machinery Parts Midwest, 400 N.E. Colonial Ct., Lee's Summit, Mo 64064 Phone 816-478-3847.
Price was $188.
Oooops, wasn't thinking right as your looking for one off a D4600.
Sorry about that.

Here is a few pics of the manifold, one ear is missing a small part outside a bolt hole. Not real pretty, but I think they are usable with a small bit of work. I guess they would have to be dismantled to keep from breakage in shipping. I don't know the part# for this set, but it did come from a d4600 engine. let me know, thanks

I have a stuck 4600 power unit setting in the machine shed in which I believe the manifold is good. Not sure if the power unit has the same manifold. Will have to get home in daylight and take a picture.

Hi Lance, my 5r has a split manifold, three cylinder on each half that come to a common collector that then exits out the hood, my manifold is cracked at the collector as there is not any way for the two haves to expand or contract at the jointfor the collector. mine has been fixed a few times, i have decided not to fix it at this point in time as it will only crack again. I would be interested to find out the SN of your friends machine, there were only 5313 of them made, mine is SN 189 and extensive research has shown that although lower serial number units may still exist, there whereabouts and condition are not available on the internet.
The ones on a d318 are totally different and will not fit, in fact they are off the opposite side of the head,
Stephen,
i'm working off memory here as i am away from my cat right now, but are you sure that is off a D4600? looks to be maybe it is off a D4400? i'm pretty sure mine has six ports on it, one for each cylinder, but it is possible that cyls 1&2 and 5&6 exit through the same port in the head into a common manifold. I do stand to be corrected though.

Yes I'm sure, it was an early 6 cyl, this is a loong manifold. I was able to save one head & all the pre-coms & I kept the sleeves to measure later, but I don't think they amount to much. The other head received a splitting headache from the scrapyard! Oh, I did save the pinion clutch in case one was needed.
