This style carb is for my Diesel 40. I have one that was broke in half across the main casting, so I would like to buy a casting, a complete carb, or a parts carb that can use the good parts that I do have. Thanks, also known as a Zenith IN-194 1/2X or a Zenith 7136

OK this is proving to be tougher than I thought, does anyone (here) even own a cat with that carb installed & how well does it work compared to the later Zenith 22ax8 ? Thanks, Stephen

Hi Stephan, Had a carb just like that on our Diesel 40, Tried to find parts for it, just about impossible and that was 20 yrs ago, Machined new jets, shafts ,bushings and made new gaskets, Run ok, I have only seen another carb like that and it was on a Diesel 40, very rare carb indeed, Ken

Ken I bought a gasket set for one on ebay a few weeks ago, but I was going to save it as a pattern. Thanks for your info. Looking at the the parts book, this was the successor to and also a field replacement for the Ensign carb, just before the 22ax8.

I had trouble finding a carb for my 3j D2, so a made a search for pony carb all makes I Found that John Deer used the same carb linkage was on the opposite side but I put it on the other wasn't hard to do, so I see that that carb is different the a 3j D2, but you might find that other tractors used the same style

That is what I hear often called the side bowl Zenith. In the parts books they were commonly referred to as the "second type" or "third type" depending on the type of pony air cleaner. As others have mentioned parts can be very tough to find. That being said I have a complete carb that I would part with to help you get yours going.
The 22AX8 carb is a great carb and far superior to the side bowl Zenith. There is a reason that the side bowl Zenith wasn't used for very long. I also have complete 22AX8 carbs available as well.
