I have a 1960 977h traxcavator for sale. D333 turbocharged engine with electric start. Last time machine was running it had a noise in the engine. Even with the noise it started well, ran good oil pressure, and had plenty of power. Not exactly sure where in the engine its coming from. Hydraulics and transmission worked like they should. Tracks, undercarriage, loader pivots good condition. Have no time or interest in fixing it, but I'd rather not see it go to scrap. Looking to sell whole or part out. Looking for $5000 cash to get my business going. If its looking like nobody wants it at that point I'll start selling parts and scrap the rest. Located in central Illinois 30 miles west of Peoria. Call or text 3096four86484. If calling leave message. Hoping to move this fast so make an offer! Thanks! New to this and phone won't upload pictures so feel free to contact me and I'll send you some.

hi my name is john, if u end up parting out I would be interested in some double flange rollers part# 9S9538 I believe yours might be right. if you scrap and cut into short steel, saving some different things might be worth your while. does anyone know if these track adjusters are the same for a d6 8U? thanks

The 977H uses 8.00" pitch rails and undercarraiage. Nothing would fit an 8U/9U.

Wonder if the 8" pitch links on the 977h would be compatible with 2 u D-8 links ?

Same pitch but different rails. Would be a match for 7M, 3T, 17A.

Need to revise my original response to monserandsons:
The early 977H up to s/n 53A2508 does use the same links as the 8U/9U, 6.75 in. pitch but the track rollers are a different part number. I don't have a parts book to verify what track tensioner is used but it is not likely to be the same as the 8U/9U.

little off topic but I have the solid front idlers and my parts book which is specific to my serial# only shows spoked, anyway...the caterpillar dealer in Syracuse ny told me the idler bushing #1f8873 was not a current# will I have to make these bushings? I wont ask anymore questions in the forsale section.

Thanks for the interest and knowledge given on these posts. Been away from page for a week or so and just saw this. I would like for someone to buy whole thing but if it comes to it I will be scrapping and posting several parts on here. Thanks

Do you still have the machine? If so, have you measured the pitch on the rails? If they're 8.00 pitch and in useable condition, I would be interested if they would work for me.

Thanks,
Brent

After further investigation, mine are 8.50. Don't know when the 7's went from 8.00 to 8.50 but sounds like we're out of luck.
