Hi, Northart.
Thanks for the photos. The Roadkill 101 looks interesting. Can I bring a couple of kangaroo recipes with me for that?
The shot of the river looks almost as if it was snap-frozen with wavelets still coming into the shore. How in hell do the fish survive in that? Or do they become freeze-kill? Do you have a higher percentage of people who drink whisky and other spirits during the winter due to the abundance of ice?
I gave up all forms of booze in 1981 so the Foster's wouldn't be any use to me, but thanks for the thought anyway. And I do have to admit that it didn't take me very long at all to get used to air-conditioned cabs.
You might find some interesting stuff here about a part of DownUnder where it gets a fair bit hotter than where I live.

Hello Deas Plant,
Most interesting to hear comments from other worlds.
The off topic conversations, are just as valuable as, Topic !
Madog never seen a frozen river till, I sent a photo.
What happens to the aquatic life is that, signals by Mother Nature , I.E. Water Temps ! Are the signal for the fish ( salmon) to retreat to warmer waters, like the ocean, or deep pools ( Freshwater) in the riverine systems.
So do the water fowl take their clues, from the ambient air temps, to migrate south.
MOther Nature ain't no dummy !

Hello Deas Plant,
Yes the indigenous Alaska Natives have a very low tolerance to Alcohol in any form. Much like the Lower 48 Native Population. Just the way it is.
Sure causes a lot of Social/Economic Problems more so, than a few words on the Cat BB !
Dunno, about the Eskimo/Future Shieks? of the North with the Natural resource base , I.E. Oil ,Natural Gas, rivaling reserves ? elsewhere in the World ??
Currently a Major Power Play in Macro Economics (Energy Resource) is at stake !
Frank Murkowski lost his reelection bid for Governor, as a result of placating or kowtowing to the major oil companies !
$Billions are at stake here ! No small poker game !
