Does anyone have any information on a factory reciprocating air compressor driven by a D-7 engine. Don`t have any more info on it yet. How about a cable backhoe attatchment for a D-8 2U? Thanks.

www.mfgdist.com/?gclid=COSIp_me4owCFR4ZgQodL0cP_g is one place you might try. I didn't follow all the links but they might be able to get you some literature. The last Cat operated compressor (Gardner- Denver)I was around was in the mid 60's. .I can't remember if it was a D7 or 8 that was used for an engine but it seems the compressor was a three stage 4 cylinder. The whole thing was mounted on wide steel wheels As I recall, it was rated around a 1130 CFM. It was old then, but my oh my. .would it pump air!

This was at a mine I worked at in NV and used as a backup. .and was it a bear to start when temps were zero or below!! Standing in front of it turning that crank would warm ya right up!! The exhaust manifold on that pony would be a dull red by the time that Cat got around to popping!!

It was either fire that thing up or start a couple of 600 CFM Ingersoll-Rand units. .and those screamin' Jimmys flat would NOT start when it got that cold, no matter how much ether was used.

Diablo, there was a cable hoe attachment for D8s made. Never saw a real one just the sales literature. I think it was made by Hyster Company.
