The Ohio Valley Chapter of the Historical Construction Equipment Association members is helping with restoration and maintenance of a Cat 977 owned by a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization within it's region.
The following parts or information is needed:
Sevice Manual (May have someone who will loan one).
maybe a poney motor that can be either rebuilt /or out of a dozer that we might put in this one .
May need main motor parts. Future plans is to raise bucket and see if motor turns.
also guages,on /off switches , any electric diagrams for it .
Anyone who my have knowledge of 977's and is willing to be contacted by e-mail and phone for information.

The following parts is needed for the dragline:
Exciter for Marion 111-M. The dragline is powered by two 671 Detroit's and has Westinghouse Electrical.
Plus any spare parts or any good parts from Marion 111-M's being scraped.
The organization may acquire a Marion 111-M Shovel in the future. It is powered by a Cat engine. If acquired parts will be needed for it's restoration & maintenance.

You need to get the serial number off it as there were a few of them made starting out with the 20A & then the 53A & 46H & 11K & 14X the ones made here in USA. The SN is needed so you can get the right parts for it. Look on the left rear side of the diesel block just below the head & also on the rear case just above the drawbar & it should be there on a riveted plate on the block or rear housing.I have worked on the 111-Marion Cat engines & the Cat engine used in the ones I saw had the D375 V-8 Cat engine if I recall. I just can,t remember if the little later 111 had the D379 in it or not for sure after the D375 went out of production.
