Well, the old Holt is finally coming togather, I have the bearings rebabbited as well as the connecting rods all with the original type of oil grooves and the shaft has been installed and fit up. The rods are also fit to the shaft and ready for the pistons and cylinders to be finished. Not we are needing to find out what the original color of the engine was. As mentioned earlier (I think) this is a stationary engine... Any idea???

Gentlmen, I am also restoring a Holt engine, 45 hp out of an early thresher. the little bit of paint still visible is dark green. My engine still has the original belt driven radiator with two fans and the previous owner built a curved tin roof similar to that on the tractors. This engine even has the original cast spark arrestor on top of the stack. My engine is also missing the governor, but still has the flyball yoke on the rear of the camshaft. I am trying to hunt down the rest of the flyball parts. I am also looking for the compression release valves and linkage for the carb. side. These engines have a very unique sound to them when running.. Thanks for the pictures and the information. JIm.
