I thought it would be good to post a picture of Gary Risk of Quarryville, PA. Gary died on April 14. He was very involved with the ACMOC Chapter 8 group and never missed the Rough & Tumble events at Kinzer, PA. He also participated at many other tractor shows & events.

Thanks Bill for sharing a memory of Gary with us. Condolences to the Risk family, you and the members of Chapter 8. It's hard to see our friends pass away. They seem so well rooted in our hobby and in our lives. It's never easy to say good bye. God Bless.

Sorry to hear about Gary's passing. I met Gary several times at Rough and Tumble- he and his friend always had the Caterpillar D2 with a makeshift turbo pulling a small pan in the "play area".

I am also sad to hear of Gary's passing.
I had the chance to meet him and we spent a long time talking cats.
He was a collector and lover of caterpillars and antique trucks, I know that you guys will miss him greatly and I hope that his collection will not be lost but preserved in his Honor.

Forgot to mention that when I met Gary he made me feel like we had known each other for years.

God Bless his Family.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words. I will pass them on to the family.

His family and friends are planning a Tribute to Gary at his shop on May 7th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The shop is located at 114 North Church Street, Quarryville, PA 17566. This is the afternoon of the Chapter 8 Club meeting at Roger Gerhart’s place in the morning in Lititz, PA.

Gary’s passion is not only towards Caterpillars it is also to old trucks. We are planning on placing his GMC Crackerbox and his Peterbuilt, each with a load of CATs in the Make-A-Wish Truck Convoy on May 8th. Gary was hoping that he would be able to make one more trip in the convoy, so Steve Risk and Ken Trout are going to take his trucks and we know that he will be riding along.

We are looking for pledges towards to the Make-A-Wish convoy, if interested in donating, please send any contributions for the Make-A-Wish convoy to the attention of Steve Risk at 11 West State Street, Quarryville, PA 17566.

Any contribution to Make-A-Wish or to Hospice of Lancaster County in Gary Risk’s name would also be greatly appreciated by the family and a great way to honor Gary’s commitment to the hobby that we all enjoy and the friends that we meet along the way.

I wanted to provide an update on this past Saturday's event in memory of Gary Risk. Close to $2,400 dollars was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We had over 200 people attend over a 5 hour period. The grill was going all afternoon with burgers and dogs and the ladies from Gary's church provided some homemade treats for all to enjoy. I have included photos of two of Gary's trucks that were in the Make-A-Wish convoy which was held on Mother's Day. There were over 320 trucks that participated in the Mother's Day event.

Thank you again for your kind thoughts and wishes, they are appreciated by Gary's family and friends.
