D4 Blade Lift Linkage question

More
14 years 1 week ago #55166 by Walter
Hi,
Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these? It has a lot of play in the pins--
appears to have to be cut apart---any suggestions?
(see photo)

Is there a bushing or bearing in here? Can parts be bought?

Thanks for any information!
Walter

Not much you can do with those "dog bone" links except split them down the middle, weld them up and re-machine. Can use drill bushings if you wish.

Bushings for the main quadrant shaft are still available from Cat or aftermarket source by dimension. The shaft seal can also be replaced. Big problem is that Cat used what I call "butter brinel" shafting that is way to soft for long life application and most likely will need replacement if worn. Bit of a job to replace but doable.
