I have been told there was an R6 model with a 3 cylinder diesel. I have not seen any information on such. Could someone confirm or deny or provide any other information if there was such a machine.
Thanks,
Ken J.

I have never seen or heard of an R6 in actual existance and I am not sure any were ever made. There is some Caterpillar literature out there with drawings. It would have been a gas tractor.

Hi kenj,
not as far as I know, BUT my former models sheets show one on line 12, I do believe this is a typo and should read D6. If we look at line 10 for the D7(RD7),as an example, you will see what I mean, ditto line 23 for the D4 (RD4).
The former equivelent would have been the gas Forty tractor.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

A handful of them were supposed to have been made, none that I know of still exist, other than distant rumors. It has a six cylinder gas engine.

I had a guy try to sell me a 6 cyl. magneto about 12 yrs ago. He said it was from a R6 and I wasn't sure if one existed either.

Hi josh,
well done posting that spec. sheet, and thanks.
Just found this chart someone sent me one time, loh and behold it does mention the R6 ! We learn something new everyday, just need to remember it, egg timers they say, 3 minutes and its forgotten.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
