This injector systems differs from all the books I have for other D4's
Are the allen screws below each injector simple retainers - what else do I need to do ? I have removed the fuel lines after taking the pic. The injectors could not rotate far as the head bolts will obstruct so I assume they just lift up.
Please see pic. I think that is a 5/16 allen key ?
She is seized up and I want get some fluid into her.

The allen screws hold the pre cups in. You need a special socket to remove the injectors. They are easy to make or you can check out ebay. I'm sure someone here has the link to the thread to make one..

These injectors can be pricks to get out if the clamping nut is siezed to the injector body which sounds like is happining to you from your description i.e. hitting to head nut. Best way is to use lots of loose juice around there, then get a big spanner or shifter or what ever you can get on the clamping nut and a spanner on the injector body. Removing the rocker cover will give you a bit more room. Then work the two against each other. Usually come free. You can just unscrew the clamping nut at the bottom and all should come out:thumb: Sounds like you have got yours to move already???
Now, I have removed these without a injector tool before BUT I do think it is best to have the right tool to do it to avoid damaging the injector. They come up on ebay from time to time, make around the $80 - $100 mark. Cat have them for $170. Most just make there own -

I have had one so bad I couldnt get the injector free from its clamping nut so it would just keep hitting the head bolt. Luckily the head was coming off anyway so after removing the head and valves I managed to screw the injector in a full circle and get it out. Sure hope this dont happen to you!
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers
