Howdy
This is my first post here. I have taken on the task of getting a friends cat 112 grader's pony moter running again. It hasnt run in a long time as he just pulled it to start it for the last 15 years or so. I have it feed up and hope to start the pony tomarrow. The big proublem now is getting the starting clutch and bendix out of its hole. It is growed in there and the grease worms have ate it up. Maybe I just need a bigger hammer???????. Any way he would like to convert it to elect start but we dont see any place for a starter to go. It is a 1954 112. Any info on where the starter would fit would sure be appericated.
Thanks

Pony motor has to be raised up a couple of inches to allow the pony pinion to be removed.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Just wonted to say thanks for all the info. Got the pony moter running great after I changed it to battery and two coil ingiton. Finnaly got the starter clutch out after removing the gov. housing and it cleaned up nice. Need a gas tank for the pony motor as when I hit it with the sand blaster the bottom left. Not sure where I can find another one. Any ideas out there.
Thanks
