Thanks for the excellent pictures again, 98j. Reminds me of the first time I pulled two plows. I was pulling a 5 bottom and a 4 bottom behind a 3T D-7. They were trip plows. I pulled the wrong rope after a corner and tripped the back one in first while it was still in the corner. I takes quite a while to unhook from the plows, turn the front one right side up again, and hook them back up!

I'll bet she sounds awesome on those uphill pulls:cool: Nothing like a direct drive to let her lug down. How much extra weight hangs on the nose?
Hey Diagonal Brace!! Like your handle. Yup, she barks pretty good on the pulls
and it does sound sweet!
Not sure how much weight on the nose....I'll
ask Neal & find out. All the later ag Cats out here have some weight ....really
helps.

Fantastic pics. Is that an apple orchard i see in the background? Pears maybe? Thanks for the photos. Don
TractorDon, ya little Devil!
It's a cherry orchard. They used to be all
in close to The Dalles....in the last 20 years or so they have moved out into
the wheat country. The one in the background behind the D6C belongs to the
same farmer who owns the D6.....the orchard is run by an established cherry
orchardist who runs a BUNCH of orchards around The Dalles area.
Here is a shot of one of the orchards that is part of SRS Ranches....from last
June as we arrive with the grader to touch up a couple of roads just before they
started picking.

98j: Good to to see some more pictures. I thought everyone had quit plowing in your country. You must be moving right along in fifth gear. Keep pictures coming. Darrol
Hey Darrol!!!
Hope that your wheat is all OK. Yup, he was moving right
along in 5th. And yeah, not a lot of plowing here in the north end of the county
anymore. That's why I wanted to get a bunch of shots of this old girl before they quit plowing with it. I know that the no-till is the wave of the future....and
it is way better on the erosion....but DAMN I loved to plow with a big old honkin'
D6 or D5:) There is just something about rolling that dirt over!

This is the way spring looks around here these days. You can smoke over a
BUNCH of acres farming this way.......but you just don't get to smell that
freshly rolled over dirt. Progress....

Thanks for the response 98J. Didn't know you could grow Cherries in that country. They are a pretty delicate crop. That orchard seems to be thriving though.
Ya should do a calendar or something with that scenery and your talent for photos. Thanks, Don

Here's some pics from past couple weeks of spring work. First pics are of the D6D pulling a 44' JD 960 cultivator and the last is a 50' fertilizer machine.

nw farmer: Enjoy pictures. It looks like your country is not as hilly as 98j. Are there any rubber tracked tractors in you area? Wheat your main crop? I think missed a bullet regarding our wheat with late freezs and 6.5 inches of snow on top of wheat. Darrol
